INTRAMED IS OPEN.

Intramed has resumed circumcision and vasectomy procedures.

All patients will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms before admission to the clinic according to Alberta Health Services guidelines. That will include a short health questionnaire, temperature check, etc.

We will admit patients one at a time to avoid unnecessary contact with staff and other patients. Patients will be escorted directly into the treatment room without stopping at the front desk to minimize contact. Intramed staff will be wearing masks.

We ask that all patients and parents arrive wearing a mask. If you are unable to find a mask, we will supply you with one and request you wear it throughout your visit. Due to continued shortages of masks, we might be unable to supply visitors with a mask.

PLEASE INFORM INTRAMED STAFF IF YOU ARE FEELING ILL OR SUSPECT CONTACT WITH A COVID 19 PATIENT.

If you are experiencing any symptoms we will be happy to reschedule you.

Surgical Consent Forms
Please print, sign and bring along to minimize unnecessary contact with others if possible.

Postponed Procedures
All patients that were postponed due to the closure are being contacted by phone or email in order to reschedule.

Baby Circumcision
Parents be assured that we will perform the procedures even if the 2 months of isolation took them over our cut-off age. We have all the patients’ names listed and everyone will be contacted.

Only one accompanying parent with babies if possible. Kindly ask extended family, siblings to remain at home or outside in the vehicle.

INFORMATION ON COVID-19
COVID-19 belongs to a family of viruses that can cause the common cold. This virus originated in animals and then jumped over to human hosts. For the most part, it doesn’t significantly affect young and/or healthy persons. Casualties usually arise in the elderly and those who have significant medical problems.

COVID-19 spreads via contact with an infected individual or their body fluids (e.g. saliva, sputum, stool). It is NOT airborne. Handwashing is the most important defense against the virus.

Symptoms of COVID-19:

The symptoms of COVID-19 are like other respiratory illnesses including the flu and common cold. They include coughing, fever, sore throat and difficulty breathing.
